Me on Me
I moved to KC from Chicago in 1994 to be closer to my sister and nephews. Following my heart has been good for me, because my personal and professional lives have been nothing short of magnificent. I keep busy, busy, busy singing with bands, at local theaters, voicing radio and TV commercials, and doing on-camera and print work. If you own a Sprint PCS phone, you hear me prompting you through your voice-mail (next time say hi to me).
In March of '96, I kicked off a new career in radio, and I haven't had a dull sunrise since! For 6 years and 9 months, I was the producer of the morning show on Oldies 95 (with Dick Wilson and Katey McGuckin). Then, on December 2, 2002, I started down the hall at our sister station, KCFX-FM, 101 The Fox, co-hosting the morning show with Randy Raley (www.thefoxrocks.com). My voice has always been my main source of income, so it's a perfect addition to my resume.
As a member of Right Between the Ears, a radio comedy troupe performing 6 or so shows a year at Liberty Hall in Lawrence, KS, I get the opportunity to combine theatre, radio, and heavy laughter. Our shows are broadcast live on KANU-FM and, in recorded form, on NPR stations nationwide. Check us out at www.rightbetweentheears.org.
If I'm not catching up on sleep, you might catch me sewing, songwriting (look for my CD in stores now), or working on my house and yard. I love roses, candles, funky jewelry, a good glass of Merlot, creative clothing, anything Native American, and hot, hot, HOT, spicy foods. But most of all, I love my family and friends and a tremendous spiritual community.
Thanks KC !
